There's more to the story...

By far my current season is the hardest of my life. I have asked God why, I have second guessed decisions, I’ve sought counsel and haven’t received any defining answers, in fact, sometimes it feels like God is silent. Can you relate?

My husband shared a message with our church just after Christmas from Hebrews 12:2. The second part of that verse says; Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it.’ (MSG translation)

So I decided to do just that - study how Jesus did it.

I've started in the gospel of Luke and it has completely changed me! The reminders of Jesus’ humanity and how he overcame the challenges he faced has encouraged me and equipped me to keep moving.

God never promised that the journey would be easy but he did promise that he wouldn’t make us walk it alone.

Lamentations 3:22-24 (MSG) says God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.’

The Collingsworth Family have a song on their new album (Just Sing!) called ‘Great is His faithfulness’. The first time I heard it, I cried my eyes out - I mean really ugly cry. Why? Because God reminded me that I am not forgotten, that yes this is a difficult season but it’s only a season.

The lyrics of the chorus say; ‘Lift your head, morning is coming there’s more to the story, Don’t forget, in grief and in glory still great is HIS faithfulness.’

If you’re in a tough season, remember that we only see one page of the whole book. The story is still to be told. Lift your head! God didn’t bring you this far to watch you fall - it’s not in his nature and one thing that you can trust without a doubt is that God will NEVER change!

He is for you, He is with you, He LOVES you!!

Remember that I will be praying for you!! If you feel alone, reach out - I don’t need details, God knows.
