Diamond in the Rough

You were designed on purpose for a purpose!

One evening last winter I was on my way home from a busy day of running errands when I noticed that the diamond from my engagement ring had fallen out. I had been everywhere that day – the gym, the grocery store and a friend’s birthday party.

I was devastated! I have worn my engagement ring every day for 24 years and although I was thankful it was insured, it was going to cost me a significant sum of money to replace the diamond.

My family and I prayed that God would help us find it or provide the finance to get it fixed – I was really hoping for the first option!

A month later I finally filed a claim with the insurance company and went to the jewelers to start the repair process. Later that day my friend called me on FaceTime with a shocked expression on her face.

As her husband was walking into their house that afternoon, he noticed something sparkling on their concrete driveway – it was my diamond!

In Michigan we get A LOT of snow. Within that month, over 6 inches of snow had fallen. My friends had plowed and driven cars across the driveway and yet my diamond was in perfect condition when it was found.

When I picked up my ring – repaired, sparkling and beautiful, I was reminded that so many people in our world may feel lost, forgotten, buried, run over or broken.

Thankfully Jesus doesn’t leave us there. He chooses the right time to shine HIS light so that what was lost can be found and restored to its beauty.

You are not forgotten!! Romans 5:8 tells us that before we even knew about God, He loved us enough to send Jesus to die on the cross so that we can be restored and beautiful. Never doubt your value - You’re worth dying for!!
